To help create new jobs for young people the government has launched a new Kickstart scheme.
The Government will pay for each Kickstart placement, up to 100 per cent of the age-relevant National Minimum Wage and the National Insurance and pension contributions for 25 hours a week. Employers could top up the wage if they chose.
Any organisation can apply for the funding, no matter the size, but the jobs that are being created must be new roles. The scheme cannot be used to pay for existing vacancies. The employer will also receive £1500 per placement to support the young person in their role and help them build skills and experience.
You can check to see if your roles are eligible for the scheme here.
If an employer is creating more than 30 placements they can apply directly to the government - you can apply directly here.
Less than 30 placements
If an employer is creating less than 30 placements, they need to work with an intermediary who will act on their behalf. Please click here for more information from Hampshire Chamber of Commerce who can act as an intermediary on your behalf. Please contact direct if this is of interest.
