Additional Signage

We are pleased to announce the addition of a number of maps at strategic areas throughout the estates.

The maps provide a useful guide for walkers, cyclists and visitors to the estates. As well as showing pedestrian routes, cycle routes and bus stops, they also show the distance to Park Gate and Swanwick Station and the time it takes for both walkers and cyclists.

SBF Director, Steve Adamson said: “A lot of people now walk the estates following our footpath and pavement improvements. This scheme is part of our long term and continued objectives to improve access as well as helping to promote greener travel options and we will continue to identify where we can improve signage and access throughout the estates.”

Romanse On-Line Traffic and Travel Information

The above real time system has recently been adjusted by Hampshire County Council (HCC) to provide travel information centred on the Segensworth area. It can be viewed at

Although still in final development, it provides a good source of information, especially the live traffic map at the bottom of the page. It should prove particularly useful to enable people to plan their journey before leaving the Estates based on congestion levels on the surrounding main roads.

We are currently talking with HCC Highways about how the system could be improved to provide a better service for the Segensworth Estates, and would welcome any feedback you may have.

In particular we would appreciate your views on how useful the information is in planning your journey, which outputs on the webpage are the most helpful, and whether you consider that the details are a good representation of the actual conditions you experience.

The latest expansion has allowed CVM to open up a used vehicle showroom with generally, 30 to 40 low mileage, high quality used cars available for purchase. Each car will have been hand-picked by CVM and passed their stringent quality assurance tests before being offered and will join a range of cars intended to suit most budgets and tastes from a three-door hatchback, a family saloon or even a top-of-the-market supercar. Part Exchange and competitive finance and leasing packages are available subject to status.

Kevin Connor, Sales Director CVM: “We’re very pleased to be expanding our business into larger new premises particularly at a time when the economy is continuing to face challenging times.” “I am delighted too that the move will allow CVM to fulfill a long-held ambition of opening a used car showroom. A few of the cars we’ll be offering for sale or lease will have come from our leasing operation but most will either have been bought-in or taken in part exchange. All however, will be of the highest quality and low mileage too.”

Upgrade to CCTV Cameras and Improved Security Monitoring

Segensworth Business Forum is delighted to announce a major additional upgrade to the CCTV system installed throughout the Estates.

The work has been undertaken by Croma Security Solutions Group (CSS) who have designed and implemented the new System. The upgrade includes the introduction of state of the art Bosch Security Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at key junctions on the Estates, two high level anti-vandal Bosch Security dome cameras providing coverage of the A27 Underpass, plus additional camera coverage of Concorde Way.

The original Bosch Security MIC PTZ cameras continue to operate and data is recorded via Bosch Security Digital Video Recorders.

Oakpark Security Systems Limited continues to provide the mobile security patrols across the Segensworth Estates; but a further key development is the timed remote monitoring of the live CCTV images from the main control room at Oakpark Security Systems. The control room is based in Colchester, Essex.

These improved security measures will continue to cut down on unsocial activity, assist in reducing potential criminal activity and prove a valuable aid for capturing the perpetrators of any crimes committed on the Estates.  All images are available to the local Police.

Claire Nutbrown, Director and Chair of the SBF Security Project Team, is delighted with these improved security measures saying:

“Segensworth Businesses frequently tell us that Security remains a key concern within the Estates.  The new CCTV coverage and associated monitoring service, combined with the effective mobile patrols, will act as part of our integrated deterrent aimed at discouraging crime and preventing Segensworth being seen as a ‘soft target’.  We intend to maintain our position of having one of the lowest crime rates for any Industrial Estate in the region”.
