| Transport Update |
The Segensworth Business Forum (SBF) would like to provide an update on the progress of the Transport Improvements section of the BID Business Plan, and how you can help us to continue to achieve our goals.Introducing the Segensworth Estates Framework Travel PlanThe SBF, Highways Agency (HA) and Hampshire County Council (HCC) have all been actively involved in the transport related issues at the Segensworth Estates. An overarching Framework Travel Plan (FTP), which has recently been produced by the HA, will include a package of measures and initiatives aimed at improving sustainable travel options at the Estates.A copy of the Framework Travel Plan is available for download. Introducing the Workplace Travel PlanA Workplace Travel Plan is more specific to the needs of individual businesses than the FTP.The benefits of having a Workplace Travel Plan (WTP) can include: * Reduced parking demand * Savings on the cost of providing and maintaining parking spaces * Reduced congestion in the area allowing easier staff and customer access * Improved staff recruitment and retention * Improved staff health and reduced stress * Improved company image We encourage each business to develop their own Workplace Travel Plan that is specific to their organisational/employees' needs. There are some sections that need to be completed, with information specific to your company. Please complete this WTP, or nominate another individual as Travel Plan Coordinator, to carry out this task. The nominated Travel Plan Coordinator will also be responsible for continuing to promote sustainable travel choices within your company. A copy of the Workplace Travel Plan Template , along with Information Sheet 1: Guidance on Producing your Workplace Travel Plan iRe is available for download. Download Travel Plan Template. Download Information Sheet1. Staff Travel SurveyFollowing the Travel Surveys in April 2008 and May 2009, a follow up Travel Survey will be launched in 2011. The survey will help us establish any changes to travel habits at the Estates, and subsequent surveys in one or two years will allow us to monitor any changes. The survey will be available online via a link in an email notification, which will be sent to you in due course. It will also be available for you to print and distribute to your employees. Alternatively, you may request for paper copies of the survey. Let us know how you would prefer the survey to be provided to you and your staff (electronic link, print yourself or hard copies), with an indication of how many paper surveys you will require. Please respond to Amanda Townsend at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will ask you to forward the email with the link to all staff and/or distribute and collect the paper copies, and return them in pre-paid envelopes. RoadshowsWe would also like to encourage businesses to hold promotional Roadshows at which your own business Travel Plan Coordinator provides help and advice on sustainable transport initiatives at the Estates, as well as help people register on the car share database. If you would like to host a Roadshow, be it all day, half-day or even during lunch time, please register your interest with Amanda Townsend at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
