Car Sharing Scheme Launched

It is with great pleasure that we can announce an exciting new transport initiative here on the Segensworth Estates.

With all of us experiencing fuel prices that are seemingly rising daily, The Segensworth Business Forum has recently commissioned an organisation called "liftshare" to create a dedicated journey matching Web site for any employee here on the Segensworth Estates to freely use. This, we hope will encourage and enable employees from all organisations here on site, to disclose their journey information and share their car journeys to and from work when possible.

This award winning service has the potential to bring positive and immediate changes to many employees. We hope that with your support we can make everyone aware of this service and the many benefits that can be realised, by enabling each of us to reduce the amount of daily journeys that we are making individually.

Liftshare.com Ltd manages over 1/4 million individual user accounts here in the UK. Each user experiences an average saving of just over £800 per year.

The Segensworth Business Forum has a target to reduce the amount of journeys this financial year by 10,000. With your help and support we think this is imminently achievable. If this target was reached, then congestion and parking problems on the Estate would be greatly reduced.

We would ask you to support this initiative by:

> Making your employees aware of www.segensworthcarshare.co.uk (from your intranet if appropriate).

> Including a section on how to use the Website for all new employees through your induction process

> Emailing all employees and asking them to consider joining

The issue of 'my car is my personal space' is lessened if car sharing is promoted within the company as socially normal and responsible. Its attraction will be further enhanced by incentives (please see below). With regards to any other potential issues that may be of your concern there is a comprehensive FAQ section within the website: www.segensworthcarshare.co.uk which is available for you and your staff to observe. Please be assured that we have set up the scheme so that it is easy for people to change sharers, journeys and details at their convenience.
